High Integrated (HI) rectangular nut

Self-piercing HI-type nuts from PROFIL are fixed in place in a single process step. A high clamping capacity in the metal is what sets this type of pierced-in nut apart from other products. One application area for this type of rivet nut is thin sheet metals used in body manufacture with moderate strength requirements. Processing steps

  • Position component above die
  • The support fastener is pushed through the component material by means of axial motion
  • The specific geometry of the die is used to form from the component material the nut shaft area so as to result in a form-fitting and friction-locking connection. There is no deformation of the nut
